Happy March!!! I am so excited to start a new month and a new holiday theme of activities with Remington! Last month we had so much fun with Valentine’s Day celebrations, and we are ready to get sham-rockin with new activities!
Just before I start a new theme, I gather all of my inspiration online or from previous things we have done. I make a list of what I want to do, and the supplies I’ll need. Often, we have a lot of what we will need on hand, or I will make things using my Cricut (often this just makes things faster or easier for me, but don’t be intimidated, you can simplify supplies oro often print and cut similar things online if you don’t have one!). The remaining supplies I usually get from the Dollar Tree, Hobby Lobby or Michaels. I always try to shop the sales and use coupons, and sometimes score in the Dollar Spot at Target! You don’t need to spend a lot of money to have a lot of fun!
Once I have all my supplies, I plan on my calendar which activities I want to do on the days leading up to the holiday we will be celebrating. Sometimes, based on the type of activity I double them up. Or on days Remington goes to school, I usually do more simple things. This month will be a little different because we will be traveling. Do what works for you! If a planned project each day is too much, just choose one or a few of your favorites and plan them for a day that works for your family. No matter what, your kiddos will be excited!
Next, I put each of my supplies for a project in a bag, and keep all the bags in one box with any additional supplies I’ll be using for the holiday/theme. It makes it so much easier to have everything in one place and organized when you need it. Obviously if you aren’t planning multiple activities at once you don’t have to worry about the planning, but if you are it helps (especially when life gets busy and the holiday starts to sneak up on you!)
Every night, I look at my calendar and plan what we will be doing the next day. I usually set it up so that first thing in the morning (even if we will be doing the project after school), everything is ready to go. I find that mornings go so fast for us and I have my hands full with both babes, this just works best for me and my schedule!
It may sound like a lot, but I promise it goes so smoothly! Or like I said before, you can just randomly pick an activity and throw it together too, that’s the beauty in these (mostly) simple ideas I love to use!
I will be be posting our daily activities this month, but you are also welcome to check out my St. Patty’s Day tab under Holiday Activities Menu! Those are the activities I have planned, plus a few of my own I will be posting!
Thanks again for following along, and feel free to leave comments, I will always welcome feedback as I work through this process!
Happy planning, and I hope you find your pot of gold this St.Patty’s Day!
